1. Instagram Is Testing “Instants”
Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature called “Instants,” and honestly…it feels very Snapchat-inspired. Social media apps copying each other again? Shocking. The feature appears to focus on more casual, quick interactions and could be Instagram’s attempt to bring back more spontaneous “authentic” sharing instead of overly curated content.
What do you think — smart move or unnecessary?

2. Threads Changed Its Logo
Threads has now updated its branding with a new italicized font and refreshed watermark style. In my opinion, this was needed. The old branding blended in too much with Instagram and Facebook, while the new look gives Threads more of its own identity and personality.
Personally, I like the new look better. Do you?

3. TikTok Business Accounts Must Be Legally Verified by June 1, 2026
Big update for brands using TikTok Business Accounts: TikTok now requires legal business verification. If you don’t submit the proper documentation by June 1st, 2026, your account could lose access to Business Tools like analytics, website linking, ad features, and more — with accounts reverting back to Personal Accounts.
Definitely not something businesses should ignore, and something that will make a Social Media Manager’s job just a little bit harder. Yikes.

4. Threads is Testing a New Meta AI Assistant
People are mad…Threads is currently testing a built-in Meta AI assistant in select countries (not the USA yet), and users already have opinions. Many people are frustrated because they say the assistant can’t easily be disabled or blocked from appearing in the app. Others are criticizing it for providing inaccurate or low-quality information.
This might become one of the biggest conversations around social apps this year: how much AI users actually want integrated into their feeds.

5. Instagram Now Recommends Reels Up to 3 Minutes
This is a major shift for creators. Previously, Instagram typically would not heavily recommend Reels over 1:30. Now, Instagram is telling us it favors Reels up to 3 minutes long, signaling a push toward slightly longer-form content.
Highly suggest you post longer clips just under 3 minutes and see how it goes with the algorithm.
